SAP calculations
The Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) is the Governments assessment tool for Energy Rating of Dwellings. The SAP ratings are scaled from 1 to 100, with 1 being a very energy inefficient house and 100 being a very energy efficient house. The current edition of SAP is SAP 2009 and is adopted by government as part of the UK national methodology for calculating the energy performance of buildings.
In conjunction with the new 2010 Building Regulations and changes to part L, SAP ratings will continue to be required for every new dwelling both at the design stage and on completion.
The completion assessment will result in the issue of an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). EPC’s are required for Local Authority Building Control project sign off and an EPC is required for marketing purposes and for handing over to the purchaser upon legal completion of the property sale.
If you would like us to carry out SAP calculations on your project all you have to do is send us your plans together with a completed version of our data sheet.
